Day Opportunities for people with dementia in Salisbury

Day Opportunities for people with dementia in Salisbury

What is a day opportunity?

If you have received a diagnosis of dementia, Foresters Day Opportunities service is available to you for the whole day (9am- 4pm), a half day or other hours by arrangement.

It provides you with the opportunity to pursue your personal hobbies and interests with friendly and supportive people in a relaxed environment.  We offer a wide range of activities  from crosswords, word games and quizzes to reminiscence, arts and crafts, baking, gardening, poetry and singing.  We have a weekly visit from Rosie, our Pets As Therapy dog and regularly organise themed activities and days.

What people say about us:-

Everybody is very friendly and it gives my wife a break. I enjoy being in the company of others. If I wasn’t coming here I would just be sitting at home doing nothing. It’s a reason to come out and I walk here, which is great!

If it was just her and me at home it would be an absolutely boring life for both of us. It gives me freedom and enables my wife to interact with other people.  It is important for any carer to be free at times.

Personal to you

Alzheimer’s Society is committed to putting you at the centre of the services we provide.

Before starting the service, our trained team will work with you and those who care for you so that we understand who you are, your lifestyle choices, family and support networks and your personal care needs.
