Fancy dress challenge raises money for military charity

Throughout the month of September, a staff member at Help for Heroes Recovery Centre Tedworth House has been taking part in a ’30 days, 30 costume, and 300,000 steps’ challenge to raise money for the charity.

Sara, of Ludgershall, has raised over an amazing £1200. Her costumes have ranged from Banana man to a Beer Can to Desperate Dan and even Peter Pan. Sara has also beat her target of 300,000 steps and ended on 335,425!

Each day throughout September, Sara has dressed up in a different outfit – and come rain or shine she never gave up! Even after being in hospital for the last few days of the challenge suffering with bad asthma, with the other patients being slightly bewildered, she continued with the challenge.

The challenge played out on the @TedworthHouse Twitter account with the new costume being uploaded every day.

Sara says: “I took on the challenge because I wanted to bring even more sparkle to the house. Sometimes the lads and lassies need something to make them smile. The money that I’ve raised is amazing.”
