Home-Start Kennet succeeds with Tesco Bid

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which see grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000—all raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores—being awarded to local community projects.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated form carrier bag sales in Tesco stores. The public will now vote in store during September and October on who will receive the awards, so please vote for us.

Home-Start Kennet volunteers visit families at home each week, to support parents in situations as diverse as isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or who are just finding parenting a struggle. They provide non-judgemental, practical and emotional support and help build the family’s confidence and ability to cope. To get Home-Start support, families must have at least one child under five, and there must be a volunteer available to support them.

Home-Start Kennet provides parent to parent support for struggling families in their own home for up to 6 months.
