Local Charities to benefit from Middlewick House Open Gardens

The gardens at Middlewick House in Corsham, formerly the home of HRH The Duchess of Cornwall and now home to Nick Mason of Pink Floyd fame and his wife, actress Annette Lynton Mason, are to be opened on Saturday 10 June and Sunday 11 June 2017 from 11am to 4.30pm in aid of two local charities.

This will be the fourth year running that Nick and Annette have opened their gardens to raise money for local charities. This year’s proceeds will be split between The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust ( and Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s Airbase Appeal (

Visitors will be able to wander around their beautiful gardens and menagerie of animals. Alan Dun, one of Bath’s leading fine art sculptors, will be showing a selection of his pieces.  There will also be a range of stalls to browse from plants to gifts.

Refreshments will be available with a delicious selection of cakes on offer as well as a barbeque. Entry is £7, children under 12 years – free.

Nick Mason said: “Annette and I are really looking forward to opening our garden again – it’s a really great way of supporting two of our favourite and enormously worthy local charities. Our visitors seem to enjoy the experience and it gives us a really good excuse to tidy the garden and polish the odd car!”

Jennie Shaw, Director of The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust, said: “This will be the fourth year Mr and Mrs Mason have supported local charities, they have raised over £60,000. Vital funds for vital charities. It’s a super weekend which thousands of people have attended, I do hope you can join us.”

Cheryl Johnson, Head of Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s Airbase Appeal, said: “We are so grateful to Nick and Annette Mason for supporting Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Our Airbase Appeal is raising the remaining £1.25 million needed to complete the building and equipping of our new airbase at Semington, near Melksham. Funds raised at the open gardens event will enable us to save lives for many more years to come, operating from our custom-built new airbase.”
