Councillors, community representatives and residents met last night for the final meeting of the Tidworth Area Board before the May elections. Decisions were made to fund two youth projects – The Tidworth Girls Youth Group & Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service Salamander Project. A decision was also made to give an area board grant to Wiltshire Police for signage to help crime prevention in Ludgershall. These three grants totalled £5718.36. Councillors also debated the programme of works to repair our worn out roads during 2017/18, and our local youth network gave a presentation on what positive activities young people would like to see funded during the next financial year.
Public thanks were recorded for all the unitary councillors for their work over the past 4 years, and special thanks was given to Councillor Charles Howard, who is taking a well deserved break from public life.
The first meeting of the new Tidworth Area Board will be on Wednesday, 17th May at Collingbourne Ducis Village Hall from 6.30pm. For more information, please contact Marc Read on 01722 434557.
