Tidworth Community Area Joins the Dementia Action Alliance

Tidworth Community Area Partnership (TCAP), which is made up of health professionals, Wiltshire Council, Town & Parish Councils, local groups and organisations, formed a dementia working group in 2015 to build on the work of the memory cafes & safe places scheme that had been established in Tidworth & Ludgershall.

The group is actively trying to raise awareness and understanding of dementia to create a more supportive community, as well as helping to provide services and activities to enhance the lives of those living with dementia and their carers.

With encouragement from Alzheimer’s Support, the group has now been recognised as a Dementia Action Alliance and continues working hard to build on it’s achievements by developing a local action plan, a network of dementia champions and an ambition to engage all of the local shops and businesses in dementia friends sessions.

If you live work or go to school in the Tidworth Community Area and want to get involved with the alliance or would like to invite our dementia champions to deliver a dementia friends session for your local group, business or organisation we would love to hear from you.
